Latex: additional info

  • Powdered Latex:
Our gloves are very lightly powdered with absorbable 100% pure corn starch powder, which is FDA-approved for such uses.

  • Powder Free:
Because of concern over latex allergies, many users are turning to powder free latex gloves as an alternative, particularly powder-free gloves that are chlorinated. KingSeal powder-free latex gloves have a lower protein particle count due to a special chlorination process specifically designed to reduce protein levels. This chlorination process is what gives our gloves a yellow, or buff-colored hue. Please note that this additional process provides a benefit for the end-user and increases costs, making chlorinated gloves slightly more expensive than the more common ivory-colored powder-free gloves (known as polymer-coated).

The lower latex protein count provides increased protection against latex allergies, which is currently a major issue in the healthcare industry. In fact, OSHA recommends that for workers who must use or prefer latex gloves, they should choose powder free gloves with the lowest protein count possible. This distinction between the gloves can be an important selling point when comparing KingSeal powder free gloves with those that are merely polymer-coated.
